International Folkfest

Our festival was organized in 1982, patterned after international folkloric festivals where our host troupe, Cripple Creek Cloggers, had represented the U.S. since 1977. We provide food, lodging, and housing for three international troupes of about 24 musicians and dancers each. Our host troupe, Cripple Creek Cloggers, assists our planning committee in planning and producing each International Folkfest. During their time here, the international troupes perform for school groups, senior groups, evening concert shows, boys and girls clubs, libraries, and various community events. They are each provided two guides, a bus, and a driver, from when they arrive at Nashville BNA until they depart. Their guides are in touch with them long before they come to help them plan effective use of their free time while here. We pay for housing at our local Middle Tennessee State University, which is two persons to a room.
